Students should not be carrying any medication other than an Epi-Pen or an inhaler for asthma. If your child needs medication during the day, a parent will need to bring it to school and appropriate paperwork will need to be filled out. See page 35 of the GHS Handbook for details
All medication at home, especially narcotics, should be in a secure place in the home. Access to your home medicine cabinet should be restricted to adults only to prevent the use/abuse of its contents. If you have old or expired or unused meds, they should be removed from your home.
Do NOT Flush them as they can contaminate the water supply. You may contact your local police department to arrange for disposing of the meds there.
