Good evening and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Last Thursday saw GMS hosting a 13-team Mathalon Meet.  With great assistance from Lori Hanf, Wanda Carder and Tracy Blandford, as well as members of GMHS math teams, Mr. Bowler ran a very successful meet.  Our math-aletes did very well, too, and still are holding on to first place for our region of the state. This is our own March Madness!

Mark your calendars for our first “Unified Field Day” here at GMS on May 3 from 9:00-1:00.  And to the Special Olympics Summer Games on June 7 at UNH. Students will be playing Corn Hole and various Track and Field Events.  More details as we get closer to the date.

Gilford Youth Softball will be holding their Skills Clinic on March 30, April 6 and 13 from 11:00-1:00 in our gym.   There will also be clinics at the Gilmanton School on March 16 and 23. Registration can be done at the clinics.

With our SRO, Dan O’Neill, leaving back in January, we will be unable hold our annual DARE classes this year.  Our new SRO, Alyssa Raxter, has not had the training to run the classes. We still hope to find a way to get some of those important messages, however, to our 5th Graders this year.

Another save the date event; the PTA Poetry Night will be held on May 21 at 6:30 at the Gilford Public Library.  Please encourage your child to take part by writing a poem of their own!

Thank you and I hope you have a great week!
