Notification from: Gilford Middle School

Good afternoon.  What a spectacular show!  If you didn’t see Frozen, Jr. this weekend, you missed something very special.  Everything was perfect! The music, acting, scenery, scene changes, costumes, and even the audience!  There were more than 1500 people that came to watch New Hampshire’s first production of the musical. I was lucky in that I had the chance to watch one of the shows from backstage; between scene and costume changes, our students were working hard.  It was very impressive. My thanks to Matt Demko and Aaron Witham for leading our students in this wonderful play. They had great help, too! Kudos to Scott Piddington (tech assistance), Heidi Bourgeois (choreography), and to the ladies who made all of those wonderful costumes (Chrys Uicker, Karen Madon, Sherry Grant [vocals, too!], Patricia Marcella, Abby Weismantel, Dee O’Connor, and Kristen Nazer).

Also deserving kudos are Mr. Bowler and his 7th/8th Grade Math Team who took first place in our regional math league!  They join Mrs. Fox and the 6th Grade Math Team as champions this year!

Thank you to those who have brought in bottle caps for the 6th Grade Economy Unit; they are all set so there is no need to bring anymore in.

I have attached the brochure for information on and registration for this year’s Summer Math Academy.  The sessions run from July 9 through August 16. And it’s free!

And despite limited practice time and virtually no batting practice, our baseball team won its first game of the season on Friday, besting Franklin 4-2.

This week’s events:

  • Monday - Track Meet at Winnisquam (4:00); 8th Grade Field Trip to HUOT Center & Lakes Region Community College; School Board Meeting at GHS (6:00)

  • Tuesday - 8th Grade Field Trip to Lakes Region Community College & the HUOT Center

  • Friday - Home Opener for Baseball and Softball (3:30)

  • Saturday - Start of vacation!

Enjoy your Sunday evening.
