Good evening.  The campus of GMHS is certainly hopping this evening.  We have a dance recital rehearsal, the Prom March, and our very own 6-8 school dance (please be sure to pick up your child by 8:30 so I can get home to watch the Sox; and how about those Bruins?!) all taking place this evening.

The 6th Graders have finished their Economy Unit Project this week.  And I am happy to say that they made a profit! All of which will go to a charity of their choosing.  As many of you know who have been through this before, students had to pitch a product (via a business plan) to representatives at Meredith Village Savings Bank in order to secure a loan to produce their product.  There were quite a few interesting ones; for example, “The Surviving School Bus,” “Rainbow Stretch,” “Pipe Fidget,” and “Book Biters.”

As promised last week, the Chorale Concert last night was a huge success.  Kudos to Mrs. Sanborn and Mr. Warnick for preparing our talented singers. It truly was amazing!

Speaking of talent, the auditions for next month’s talent show (a perennial favorite here) will take place Monday and Tuesday after school next week.  The talent show is scheduled June 12 sometime in the afternoon.

Tuesday night is the PTA Poetry Contest winners’ readings.  This will take place at the Gilford Public Library at 6:30.

Next Friday evening has our Band and Choir performing at the Fisher Cats game in Manchester.

The 5th and 8th Graders should finish their Science State Testing on Monday.  This will be followed by the 6th and 7th Graders taking their Math State Testing on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday will see the 5th and 8th Graders taking their math portion of the test. So far, we have been impressed with their efforts!

And thank you for being patient with me directing the traffic out on Alvah Wilson in the morning.  I think the new bus drop-off/route has been helpful (certainly safer). Just two friendly reminders:  One, you are not allowed to take a left hand turn out of the parking lot between 6:45-7:30 and 2:00-2:30.  Two, it is very helpful for me when you use your directional signals when you want to turn into the school.

Take care and have a nice weekend.
