Good afternoon.  Please take some time this weekend to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms and the freedom for others around the world.  A great way to do this is to take part in the town’s annual Memorial Day Parade featuring our band students in grades 7-12. The program begins at 10:00 on Monday in front of the Gilford Community Church.

Our Unified Indoor Soccer Team has a big week next week with two games.  The first is on Tuesday at 3:30 versus the Spaulding Youth Center here at GMS.  Then on Wednesday, they travel to Merrimack Valley Middle School for a 12:30 match.  Students may either bring their own lunch or check in with me to eat lunch here at school during our first lunch time.

I have attached this month’s edition of the Gilford Parks and Rec Newsletter.

Kudos to our 6th Graders!  They earned $718.96 from their Economy Unit project!  All of the proceeds will be donated to the “Make-A-Wish Foundation.”  I am very proud of my 6th graders for working so hard and raising money for such a worthy organization.

I have also attached two flyers for our Annual Summer Math Academy.  One for current students in grades 4-6 and the other for current students in grades 7-8.

Other events next week:

  • Tuesday = Baseball/Softball at Winnisquam (3:30)

  • Wednesday = Baseball/Softball at Laconia (3:30); Cribbage Play (2:30-3:30)

  • Thursday = Annual 7th Grade Gilford Beach Clean-up

  • Friday, June 1 & Saturday June 2 = GMS production of “The Addams Family” in the high school auditorium.  Once again, Director Matt Demko has two different casts and Technical Director, Aaron Witham, has one talent tech crew running both shows!

Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Peter
