Good afternoon.  As you well know, I’ve been “interviewing” each student here at the middle school.  I am now through the 7th and 8th grades and have begun the 6th grade today. Each time I sit down with a student who is new to our school I always ask them to tell me one thing that is better here than their old school and vice versa.  The first thing that each and every new student said was that the kids here are nicer than their old school. High praise and a major bucket-filler. I’m not surprised but it is certainly nice to hear.

I have attached to this email the latest newsletter from our Parks & Recreation Department.  Check out the interesting events that they offer.

If anyone has some old wooden furniture laying around their garage/bar that you’d like to get rid of, the high school’s production of Les Miserables would to see a photo of it.  Perhaps the theatre department can take it off your hands?  Just submit the photo to technical director, Scott Piddington.

Laconia High School is hosting a presentation by Robert Hackenson who will be discussing the issue and dangers of vaping.  This will be held in their auditorium on Wednesday, November 14 from 6:30-8:00.

The next volunteer clinic will be held at the SAU on Wednesday, November 7 from 8:00am-9:00am.  The process takes about 20 minutes; new sessions start every 10 minutes. Photos will be taken for ID badges.

The next Cribbage Play will take place on Tuesday from 2:30-3:45 in our cafeteria.

Good luck to both our Cross Country and Field Hockey teams as they compete tomorrow in “postseason” play.  The field hockey team begins their tournament in Winnisquam (9:55) and the cross country team runs in the championship at Coe-Brown (11:30).

Stay tuned for information how to sign up for parent conferences which will be held on Thursday, November 8 (3:00-6:00) and November 9 (8:00-3:00).

Thank you and have a nice weekend.  And how about them BoSox?!

Peter
