On Wednesday, January 18, at about 7:15, our school will be conducting a lockdown drill. A lockdown is activated when it is necessary to protect students and staff from an intruder or other situation that would entail securing students and staff in their classrooms or other rooms that are able to be locked.
As the Gilford School District takes student safety seriously, we conduct a variety of drills on an ongoing basis. Prior to the drill, we will explain to students the necessary actions to take during a lockdown to ensure their safety.
Members of both the Gilford Police and Fire Departments will be assisting in the drill. If you have any questions regarding school safety or preparedness, please do not hesitate to email Debra Laliberte, our Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, or call her at 524-7146 ext. 221.
