Good afternoon.  I received a phone call from the person who organized the state of New Hampshire’s “Holiday Cards for the Military and First Responders” Drive.  She could not say enough nice things about our staff and student body for the cards that they created prior to Thanksgiving. She said they were spectacular, creative, beautiful, and from the heart.  Some of our students even shared pictures they created to make them more special. Many thanks to our students and staff who took part in this last month. You filled many buckets!

I have attached a flyer from our Parents of Performing Arts (POPS) regarding their efforts to support music in the middle school.  The flyers will also be on hand at Tuesday night’s Holiday Concert (7:00pm) in the high school auditorium. I hope you can make it and see how Mr. Warnick, Mrs. Sanborn, and Mrs. Beyrent have transformed a talented group of students into an awesome ensemble!

Save the date:  March 7, 2019. There will be an evening presentation for parents (and to students during the school day) regarding the dangers of vaping.  This has become a problem at both the middle and high schools in the past year and needs to be addressed. More details to come as we get closer to the date.

This past Friday we celebrated our first trimester Silver Hawk Award winners.  Each grade selected a boy and a girl who they felt best exemplify what it means to be a responsible, respectful, resourceful and confident learner.  And because of the feedback from the student body, we went back to the original format of selecting the recipients. The winners were: Sydney Irons and Cole Howard (grade 8); Abby Kenyon and Aiden Bondaz (grade 7); Brody Testa and Megan Legro (grade 6); Benson Chen and Maria Tilley (grade 5).  Congrats!!

This week’s events:

Today = Patriots vs. Steelers (4:25)

Tomorrow = Ugly Sweater Contest

Tuesday = Boys/Girls A Hoops (4:00/5:15); Holiday Concert (7:00)

Thursday = Boys/Girls A Hoops @ Laconia (3:30/4:45); Budget Committee Meeting (6:30)

Friday = Pajama Day

Take care and hope you have a great week.

Peter
