  • 11/17/2017 Good afternoon.  Do not be surprised if your child comes home today a little bit sleepy.  Our Food Service folks served them a delicious, and filling, turkey dinner with all the fixins’.Reminder that next week we only have school on Monday and Tuesday.  There will be NO Homework Group on either day.  And because of the very short week, I will spare your inbox and email from me!  However, this means a longer version this week.  Sorry….Once again, it is time to share some of the valuable lessons our wonderful staff has been teaching to our students:Grade 5 - In Mrs. Bettoney’s math class, students were using our Eureka Math program to learn how to round decimals ...

  • 11/09/2017 Good afternoon.  Short week.  Short update.  Lucky you.Early Release is next Wednesday (12:20). There will be no Homework Group on that day.  We also have two field trips next week: Grade 5 on Wednesday & Grades 7th/8th Band on Friday.  Remember that if you would like to volunteer or chaperone, you will need to first be fingerprinted AND attend a brief (15-20) orientation.If you have a chance, take in the high school’s production of “Oliver!”  You will see about 30 of our middle schoolers on stage along side their elder thespians.  Shows run at 7:00pm on November 10, 11, 17, & 18.   • 11/03/2017 Good morning.  My thoughts go out to those families (which is most of you) that had lost power for an extended length of time this week.  And especially to those who suffered damage and/or lost a lot of money to spoiled food.  You obviously did a great job in keeping your kids’ spirits up as they did come into school on Wednesday looking happy; a bit dazed and tired but happy.  I know that there are still about 100 homes or so in town that are still without power so I send positive thoughts their way.There are three upcoming meetings that I would like to make you aware:  Tomorrow morning at 8:00 is the last School Board ...

  • 10/26/2017 Good rainy afternoon.  I’d like to start this week’s edition by sharing with you some of the great things your children are doing with our wonderful staff.In Mrs. Barbour’s Reading Class, students created “impromptu poetry.”  They had to choose a color and write about what that color means to them.  They used a lot of amazing symbolism that I found hard to believe that came from 7th graders!Grade 5 - Speaking of symbolism, in Mrs. Watterson’s Social Studies Class students were using Britannica Online to research American landmarks.  They needed to describe the landmark, learn about its history/importance, where it can be found, and what it symbolizes for we American citizens.Grade 6 - A ...

  • 10/20/2017 Good afternoon, everyone.  Lots of information to share this week so let’s get down to business with a “list” update this week:Our second session of high school engineering is beginning soon.  Students are transitioning from flight (pressure, wings, airplanes, etc) to 3D printing and electrical circuits.  Students have a lot of choice in what they are able to do.  I have attached the permission slip for this exploratory program.Short notice but the “Vision Van” will be in both Franklin and Laconia this coming Monday.  Please see the attachment for more information.Gunstock Ski Club is having its annual Ski & Snowboard sale from November 4th to the 9th.  You can also sell your used equipment at this event ...
