  • 11/02/2018 Good afternoon.  I hope you had a happy Halloween.  Did your kids get too much candy? If so, you can donate your extra treats to support our Troops, Veterans and First Responders!  Last year Operation Gratitude collected more than 400,000 pounds of candy, distributing it to US Troops serving far away from home, Veterans, and First Responders.  This year, Ms. Scudder’s homeroom would like to increase that donation as a way of saying “Thank you” to all who have served. You can bring in individually wrapped, fun-sized Halloween candy next week; please do not donate bags of loose candy.  Students can bring them to Ms. Scudder’s room and they can also be brought to the front ...

  • 10/19/2018 Good afternoon.  As you well know, I’ve been “interviewing” each student here at the middle school.  I am now through the 7th and 8th grades and have begun the 6th grade today. Each time I sit down with a student who is new to our school I always ask them to tell me one thing that is better here than their old school and vice versa.  The first thing that each and every new student said was that the kids here are nicer than their old school. High praise and a major bucket-filler. I’m not surprised but it is certainly nice to hear.I have attached to this email the latest newsletter from our Parks & Recreation Department ...

  • 10/12/2018 Notification from: Gilford Middle SchoolGood afternoon.  I am a fiercely proud principal today.  Yesterday, we had our annual community event to help out the folks in Laconia by carving pumpkins for their PumpkinFest.  Our students and staff carved more than 300 pumpkins for the event. I had to be out yesterday so I did not witness what people were raving about today.  The students did an amazing job with their behavior, enthusiasm, and collaboration. The custodial staff was thrilled as to how well they cleaned up; it’s not an easy task to keep the building clean while carving 300+ pumpkins.  Kudos to my staff for their leadership. Kudos to Gigi Johnson and her merry band of volunteers for ...
