  • 06/14/2019 Good morning.  The end of the school year is in sight.  Hopefully, for our students the weather this summer will improve greatly from the spring they have endured so they can truly enjoy their well-deserved time off.  This will be one of the more lengthy emails as it will be the last of the school year!Yesterday, we celebrated our last Silver Hawk Award winners in our morning ceremony.  The recipients (2 from each grade, each trimester) are chosen by their teachers as students who epitomize what is means to be a respectful, resourceful, responsible, and confident learner. Our winners for this third trimester were Luke Crawford, Jade Nicolas, Mallory Daley, Kyle Gandini, Noah Bolduc, Addy Wernig, Lily Tierno ...

  • 06/03/2019 Good morning.  This morning we conducted a "LockDown/Barricade Drill" both here at the middle school and over at the high school. First responders from the GPD and the middle school administrative team conducted this drill to ensure that students and staff members stay current with best practices such as the ALICE training that we have recently been through. We were thoroughly impressed with the seriousness that our students and staff displayed; this was the most successful drill we have ever had here in my four years. Please contact me if you have any questions. The students and staff at GMS are our number one priority and I thank you for placing your trust in us.Peter

  • 05/30/2019 Good evening.  I had a great conversation with our 5th Grade Team today and it was suggested that we, the school, do a better job of reminding parents where to find information regarding their child’s grades, assignments due, etc.  We know that we inform you from time to time but it would be helpful to get reminders more often; I know that it is helpful for me! And seeing that we’re trying to get students work in before the end of the year, it would be appropriate to do so now. So here it goes:  Each Grade Level Team has worked hard to establish a weekly assignment page/link on our school’s website.  Just follow this link ...

  • 05/23/2019 Good afternoon.  This promises to be a good weekend.  Not only is it a 3-day weekend but I get to start it off with a Fisher Cat game tonight and enjoy watching our students show off their musical talents on the playing field as our Band and Chorus will perform in front of the home crowd.Recently, our 8th graders traveled to NHTI to take part in the “C4U Reality Fair.” This is an interactive event where students simulate spending decisions they will face when they graduate from high school using the entry-level salary of a profession of their choice that they have researched in advance with Mr. Bowler. The goal is to stay within a monthly budget ...
