Good evening. Just little more than two weeks before another break in the education action.

Book Fair Ending Soon

Our Book Fair has been extended through Monday and online shopping will end on Tuesday so there is still plenty of time to help complete your holiday shopping!

Holiday Craft Fair

And speaking of holiday shopping, the high school’s annual Craft Fair is this Saturday at both GHS and GMS. Hours of the fair are from 9:00-3:00. Get here early as parking will be very tough to find. This is a huge event and the senior class’ biggest fundraiser.

Student Contact Info

Earlier this week, I sent an email to students asking if they wanted to receive text messages from the school regarding snow cancellations, Blizzard Bags (the impetus of this request), and other important messages. Students need to opt in for this option. However, you have the right to not allow your student to opt in; if this is the case please let me know. We thought this would be a good idea as students check their text messages more frequently than they do with their email (just like we adults!). Don’t worry, it will be used sparingly.

Choose Love Update

On Tuesday, we kick off the Choose Love Movement here at the middle school with an assembly. Students will be split up (by grade level) into “Choose Love Teams” or CLT’s of groups of about 11 students. Each Early Release these CLT’s will get together for 45 minutes to work through the program. This program was developed by Scarlett Lewis, mother of Jesse Lewis who was tragically killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting. The goal is to create awareness of important values that can improve our lives and the lives of others.

Career Presentations

Mrs. Moynihan has once again invited parents into her 5th grade Guidance class to talk to students about their career choice. And just like earlier this year, it is an eclectic group: Commercial Air Pilot, Elementary School Teacher, Musician/Entertainer, Postal Worker, and a second pilot. These have been great experiences for our young learners. Many thanks to those taking time out of your busy day to speak with our students.
