Good evening. Did you check out that full moon tonight? It’s spectacular!

Holiday Concert

Speaking of spectacular, our annual Holiday Concert takes place on Tuesday in the high school auditorium. The evening will begin at 6:30. I hope you can come and see our talented musicians and singers; Mr. Warnick, Ms. Beyrent, and Mrs. Sanborn have done an incredible job in preparing our performers for this special night.

Health Class News

Mrs. McLane and her Health class are once again decorating the main lobby doors with seasonal anti-drug messages. This section has chosen to highlight the dangers of alcohol, marijuana, chewing tobacco, vaping, and cigarettes. They will be judged on their presentation (a clear anti-drug message, valid and accurate facts, target audience awareness, and knowledge of drug during the Q & A).

Youth Center Upcoming Event

I have attached a flyer for the Gilford Youth Center’s “Holiday Kids Market.” This will take place this Saturday from 9:00-Noon. Please visit the GYC website to register.

Choose Love Update

We held our first “Choose Love” session yesterday morning. Overall, staff and students were very pleased as to how it went; lots of comments of wanting to do more. The plan is for small groups or Choose Love Teams (CLTs) of 9-11 students to work with an adult in the building to go through the Choose Love program. The program is based on four pillars: Courage, Gratitude, Forgiveness & Compassion. For a refresher on the program, please visit the website. We will have five more 45-minute sessions (on Early Release Wednesdays) through April as well as five 10 to 15-minute sessions to give students an opportunity to do journal writing/reflection that will be part of the discussions during the longer sessions. Sample topics for journaling/reflection include: Stand up for someone who needs strength and a voice; Make a list of your strengths; No negative thoughts today, be positive, etc.
