Good afternoon.  Hopefully, your kids got four things accomplished today:  Got some extra sleep, worked on their Blizzard Bags, helped you clear the snow, and had some fun in the snow.  If not, there is still time!

Winter Carnival

is just one week away.  Below is important information regarding the event:

  • Ski Equipment can be dropped off here at the school (in our cafeteria) on Wednesday from 2:30-5:00.  You can also drop them off on Thursday beginning at 7:00.

  • Equipment should be picked up at the end of the day on Thursday.  If that is not possible, it can be picked up each day until 3:15; we will keep it in one of the rooms in the main office.

  • Students are encouraged to dress appropriately (even if they are just staying in the lodge), bring their own lunch (ski area prices are not cheap), bring a game (if they plan to spend a lot of time in the lodge) and to check their skis in at the free ski check when going into the lodge for lunch.

  • Students purchasing lift tickets will be given an RFID card in order to use the chair lifts; they need to be returned at the end of the day to me (there is a $5.00 charge for lost cards).

  • Students wishing to stay up at the mountain:

    • If you want your child to stay up at the mountain instead of returning to school, they must be signed out between 11:00-1:00 in the Main Lodge with their grade level teacher.  Both you and your child must be present at this time.

    • If you want another adult to sign out your child, the same rules apply as above PLUS we will need written permission from you (an email to me is fine) by Wednesday afternoon.

    • In both of these cases, the adult signing out the child assumes responsibility for him/her.

    • Please coordinate sign-out time with your child so neither or you is waiting for each other

  • If any student needs medical attention, they should head to the First Aid Station and they will contact Mrs. Haddock. She will either be in the Main Lodge or in the First Aid Station.

  • Buses will leave Gunstock Mountain at 1:50; a little bit earlier from Merrill Fay Ice Arena.
