09-13-2020 Food Service News

Good morning,

I am writing to share a message from the Gilford Food Service Department. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the New Hampshire Department of Education Office of Nutrition Programs and Services has informed us that schools can provide free breakfast and lunch to all students regardless of their free and reduced status in response to COVID-19. All students taking advantage of this program will have to enter their account number so that we can track the number of students we are feeding for breakfast and lunch. This will allow us to be reimbursed by the USDA. This program will run through December 31, 2020 or until the funding runs out.

Parents still need to complete the application for free and reduced to maintain a seamless service for breakfast and lunch when the USDA funding expires. The 2019-2020 applications expire on October 21, 2020. We urge families to complete the application prior to the October 21st deadline. The application and Food Service Director, Jonathan Dupuis contact information, can be found on the Food Service page here
