Tara Brosius, Principal

Tara is the principal at Gilford Middle School and has served in this role since 2022. Prior to that, Tara was the principal at Elm Street School in Laconia for eight years. She began her career in 2001 as an Algebra teacher, English Teacher, and Social Studies teacher.

Tara received her undergraduate degree from Plymouth State College and her graduate degree from New England College. She holds her certification as a K-8 teacher and principal. Tara is involved in the Portrait of a Learner work for Gilford School District and has worked to bring consistent expectations to GMS by implementing MTSS-B (Multi-tiered Systems of Support) alongside with her amazing staff. She is also a certified ALICE Trainer and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Trainer.

Tara has a passion for developing strong relationships with her learners, staff, and families. Taking time to develop these relationships is important to her and is key to the success of creating and fostering an environment where everyone will thrive.

Aside from her professional work, Tara enjoys spending time with her friends and family who she holds near and dear to her heart. Tara enjoys attending concerts, spending time on the water, traveling, and creating lasting memories.
