And you thought you were done with me for a while....

2 gaffes, so far, that i need to correct for today's Parent Update below:

  1. It was TEACHERS not Students who nominated students for the POL Roll
  2. Silver Hawk Award winner, Christina's last name is spelled "Athanasopoulos" (and I've been so good with spellings....)

Thank you and I will try to leave you alone for a while.  No promises....

Today's Parent Update:
Good morning. Okay, I lied. There is one more weekly update for this current school year, afterall.….

If you were unable to drop-off your students' instructional materials, you can still do so during the week of June 22; remember, next week the main office is closed for cleaning. When you find out about when you can do so, please send me an email so I can be sure that someone will be here to collect the items. You may also drop off items today before Noon.

By Monday afternoon, the Progress Reports shared with your students a few weeks ago will have been updated. Please have your child access their “shared” Google Drive to show you the final report for the third trimester.

Because of our transition to Competency-Based Education (no more “traditional” grades) and “all this” that we just went through, we are not able to have a “traditional” honor roll. But it is important to recognize and celebrate students’ success during this third trimester. We will post in the newspaper in the coming weeks our “Portrait of a Learner Roll.” I have asked students to nominate students (similar to our Silver Hawk Award winners) who they felt best fulfilled the 4 attributes of our District’s Portrait of a Learner. I have shared the attributes in this email.

Also shared in this email are two flyers from the Gilford Public Library regarding their summer programs.

When the Million Word Readers’ t-shirts come in, I will let students know via email that they are in and how they can come to school and pick them up.

In case you missed the broadcast last Friday morning, here are the Grade Level and Unified Arts Silver Hawk Award Winners for the third trimester and school-year, respectively.

Grade Level = Bryce Cook & Christina Athanasopoulos (5th); Connor Brough & Sydnie Quimby (6th); Andrew Gately & Georgia Eckhardt (7th); Chloe Romprey & Ean Bickford

Unified Arts = Elizabeth Albert, Aiden Bondaz, Samantha Dahl, Ryan Guyer, Abby Kenyon & Addy Wernig (8th); Jordan Samson, Sophie Powers, Cooper Perkins, Kaitlyn O’Brien, Lauren Nazer, Harry Jenkins, Andrew Gately, Georgia Eckhardt, Anna Coapland, Makenna Clayton, Clark Blackwelder, Hunter Bell & Rachel Beck (7th); Olivia Albert, Hailey Bean, Faith Benedict, Benson Chen, Julie DeCesare, Ollie Green, Norah Lee, Taryn Limanni, Kendall Madon, Elijah Moneysmith & Jade Nicolas (6th); Sydney Boudreau, Bella Bryant, Liam Butler, Bryce Cook, Maya Criscone, Rowan Defosses, Natalee Magdziasz, Alissa O’Brien, Grace Powers, Lilly Sanborn & Ben Valles (5th)

“Lifetime” Silver Hawk Award = Addy Wernig, Grade 8, for earning 6 out of 8 possible Silver Hawk Awards in her middle school career.

Again, I hope you have a healthy and enjoyable summer. Take care,
