10/15/2020 Surveys, Conferences etc.

Good evening. We’ll get right into it this week with an announcement about three very important emails that we will be coming your way in the coming days.

Important Survey:

The first will be a survey (on Monday) regarding your choice of mode of instruction and transportation for the second trimester. This needs to be completed by Monday, November 26 so we have time to plan, please. Everyone needs to complete this survey even if you do not plan on changing your modes of instruction and/or transportation for the second trimester. We are not going to assume anything. I have attached what we used for schedules for both in-person and remote learning this trimester. Dependent on enrollment in either, the schedules should look very similar during the second trimester. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Parent/Teacher Conferences:

The second email (most likely, Wednesday) will be in regards to Parent Conferences; which take place on Friday, October 30. All of the conferences will be done “remotely.” I will send links to you for you to sign up time slots with teachers. As you know, this will be another “bridge” that we have never crossed before; it promises to be “interesting.” However as you know, you can always reach out to your child’s teachers anytime to arrange to talk or even come to school for a meeting.

The third email (which I will send tomorrow) will explain the state assessment (NHSAS) testing schedule for our Remote Learners. They will be taking their assessments in math, reading & writing next Tuesday and Wednesday; our In-Person Learners are currently taking them now.

PTA News:

The PTA is once again sponsoring the annual “PTA Reflections” contest. This year’s theme is to use the arts to share your “reflections” on “I Matter Because…” There are various ways in which students may participate: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Competition, Photography and the Visual Arts. There is also a Special Artist category to allow for students with a disability to participate. Students can pick up much more information from a display in our cafeteria.

Halloween Info:

Also, attached to this email is a letter from the Town regarding Trick or Treating on Halloween. The good news is that we will have our annual Student Council Halloween Costume Day on Thursday, October 29.

Next week’s events:

Monday = Boys A/B Soccer (3:30/4:30)

Tuesday = Girls A Field Hockey at Kingswood (4:00); Cross Country Meet at Belmont (4:00)

Wednesday = Fall Sports Picture Day (2:20)

Friday = Boys B Soccer (3:30); A/B Volleyball at Gilmanton (4:00/5:00); Girls B Soccer (4:30)
