Good afternoon.  A successful first week in the books!  I’m sure your kids will sleep well this weekend after a busy week of school.

If you have any questions when completing the Free/Reduced Lunch paperwork, please contact our District Student Services Director, Esther Kennedy.  If you have not received that paperwork in the mail by now, it will be arriving soon; or you can download it here.

Our Robotics/LEGO team is looking for new members, grades 5-8, to join their competition team. Stop in at our upcoming meetings to learn more.  They meet in the computer classroom; please email Mrs. Damato for more information.  The team will meet next Monday and Tuesday from 4:00-5:30.  Hope to see you there!

Also, we are currently planning for our upcoming “LEGO at the Lakes” tournament which will take place here at GMS on November 16.  This is a huge event that was extremely successful last year. The tournament committee is seeking additional members to plan the event.  Please join them at their first meeting on Monday in our cafeteria at 6:30pm. Again, please email Andrea Damato for further details.

Below are links for information regarding the dangers of vaping.  These would be a great topic of discussion with your middle schooler:

When you come to the school to see a teacher, pick up your child, etc (right before, during or right after), please use our new intercom system in the vestibule to get buzzed in and report immediately to the main office to sign in (and sign out once you leave).  If you are coming to watch an event in the gym, there is no need to sign in at the office, however. Thank you.

The “New Hampshire Tackles Hunger” event is taking place again this year..  Please feel free to drop off non-perishable food items (no glass) here at GMS or at our Varsity Football Team’s game on Saturday, October 5. Some specific items they are looking for are Peanut Butter & Jelly, Tuna Fish, Soups, Sauce & Canned Fruits/Vegetables. Cash donations are also accepted.

Next week’s events:

Monday - Boys and Girls A Soccer (4:00/5:30); A & B Volleyball at Gilmanton (4:00/5:00).
